I've been listening to these songs over and over for like three days now, I dont know it just gets me. It's an upcoming genre called Moombahton. It's basically a 128-130bpm house beat slowed to around 108-110bpm, and mixed with a reaggaeton beat. It was first made popular by Dave Nada, and has since made its way around the world, and is now being produced extensively by the likes of Diplo, Dillon Francis, and more. If you havent heard it already take a listen, I have a feeling we're all gonna hear a lot more.

Amon Tobin is simply one of the most progressive and forward thinking artists of today. His new album "ISAM" is sonically astonishing, and this is the live experience to go with it. It debuted at Mutek in Montreal,  and went on tour in Europe, but a North American and tour is apparently in the works.

Verizon iPhone and iPad 2

The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that Verizon Wireless is set to announce the long awaited Verizon iPhone. In store availability is speculated to be later this month (from Mac Rumors). Shrouded by the anticipation of this long expected event, is a leak from Digg founder Kevin Rose, revealing the "iPad2" at a CES conference. "I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next "3-4 weeks", possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras." He claims. It is unknown when the next generation iPad would be available following a February 1st announcement, however, most foresee it being released in stores late March - early April following the timing of the first generation iPad.

Today Apple unveiled the Mac App Store. Thousands of apps, and more to come, are now available for your Mac. This creates flawless integration of mobile apps and the home computer. This also foresees the marginalization of lower priced software, as more apps will be priced lower to sell. There are also plenty of free apps available. One thing different about this release is the standalone App Store app, that is the Mac App store. The Mac App Store app is included with a new Mac OSX software update. Get it.
